Signing
at Lacey's OLYMPIC
CARDS & COMICS on July 6th
Hello
friends from the Pacific Northwest! I will be doing
a signing at OLYMPIC
CARDS & COMICS
on July 6th from 1:00pm
to 4:00pm. All my books and comics
will be available, as well as my DVD and T-Shirts.
Creator/artist
Steve
Rolston will also be signing along with
me. Steve has made quite a name for himself in the comic
book industry with mini-series such as Pounded
(Written by Brian Wood, illustrated by Steve Rolston
and published by Oni Press) and MEK
(Written by Warren Ellis, pencilled by Steve Rolston,
inked by Al Gordon, coloured by David Baron and published
by DC/Wildstorm). Steve's upcoming graphic novel, One
Bad Day, will be released in August by
ONI Press. I recently checked out Steve's
site and was very impressed. I'm looking forward
to meeting him.

Diego's Comic-Con. If you thought I had a weird
obsession with crazy rabbits, then wait til you see
what this guy has put together! The 4-issue series will
feature no less than 1000 demented rabbits! The drawing

Addition to the Fan
Art Gallery by Douglas Pledger
Yesterday,
I received a really cool email from England. It was
from a lad named Douglas Pledger, a
talented artist and fellow self-publisher. He sent me
a set of really neat images which he claims were inspired
by my work. I'm flattered! I just had to share those
with you. Here's part of his email:
Dear
Michel, hello there and greetings from London, UK. I
found a copy of your rabbit book a couple of years back
and fell in love with your work, absolutely superb,
a real breath of fresh air which I needed!
Your
artwork has been a great inspiration on my work. I've
attached here [some] pictures: [one] is a cartoon I
did, as an homage to your style, of this little alien
mouse thing which my girlfriend Helen is looking at.
[The rest are] some monsters superimposed onto photos
I took at work around the studios. They too are pictures
I did with a streak of Michel Gagné in. I hope
you don't mind. If any of this is of any use to you
for your website or whatever then by all means use it,
you've given me that extra push, you and John K. Boy
you guys can draw!

Signing
at Seattle's ZANADU
COMICS on June 25th
Hello
friends from the Pacific Northwest! I will be doing
a signing at the wonderful comics store called ZANADU
on June 25th from 3:00pm
to 6:00pm. All my books and comics
will be available, as well as my DVD and T-Shirts. This
should be really fun.
I
met some of the store's employees at the Emerald
City Comicon, and was pleased to hear that many
were fans of my work. One of them has one of my drawing
tatooed on her shoulder!! I dropped by the store a couple
of months ago and was very impressed by the excellent
selection and the friendliness of the staff. If you
live within driving distance of Seattle, you should

morning, I received a great email from one of Disney's
computer wiz. This is what he wrote:
My
name is Roger Borelli and I am a CG
Modeler here at Disney Feature Animation. I have been
here for about 1 year now and like it a lot.
The
reason I am emailing you is that I bought your book
"Frenzied Fauna:
From A to Z" and like it a lot! The designs
are wonderful! So I decided ot make one of them into
a 3D model in my spare time at home. I modeled [the]
Xerus and have posted an image of it on the web. Here
is the link
to it in case you would like to see it. I hope you like
what I have done with your great 2d design and I hope
it is ok that I post it.
Thank
you for making such wonderful designs. I really want
to turn some of your other 2d designs in "Frenzied

INSANELY
TWISTED RABBITS Featured in June's PREVIEWS
Yesterday,
I went to my local comic store (Cosmic
Comics) and picked up, among other things,
the latest issue of Diamond's
Previews (June 2003). I like to get the
catalog every month to see what's coming up
in the world of comics and illustrated literature.
Anyway, I found this cool plug on page 375.

Guest
of Honor at Anthrocon 2004
Last
year, I received an email from Sam Conway,
one of the organizers of the annual Anthrocon
in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He asked me if I'd be
willing to be a Guest of Honor for Anthrocon
2003. Unfortunately, I had to decline due to
a conflicting schedule with the San
Diego Comic-Con. He replied, "How
about 2004?", adding that the convention would
cover all the expenses for my beloved wife and I. Well,
how could I say no to that?

A
couple of weeks ago, Sam asked me if I could do a little
drawing (advertising Anthrocon 2004)
to be included in this year's program. Initially, the
theme of next year's convention was going to be "zoot
suit". So, I came up with the little graphic on
the left. Then, they changed the theme to "summer
games" and apologetically asked me if I could have
another stab at it. The drawing on the right is what
I came up with.

Interview on SciFiDimensions.com
At
the Atlanta Comicon, I met John
C. Snider, the chief editor of the Science-Fiction
on-line magazine called SciFiDimensions.com.
He came by my table and asked me if I would be willing
to be interviewed for his magazine. I said "sure,
why not!". Throughout the convention we tried to
hook-up for a chat, but unfortunately my busy schedule
made it impossible to do so. A couple of weeks after
the con, I received an email from John. He asked me
if we could do the interview via email since we never
got to do it in person in Atlanta. Always eager to please,
I joyfully agreed. Well folks, here
it is!
